Cellulite: The Worst Enemy Of Beauty

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is one of the most common cosmetic problems among women – almost every third woman suffers from the much-hated orange skin. Perhaps it is at these moments that all women envy men who do not know cellulite. The reason for this is simple. In women, fat tissue in the thighs and hips is a kind of storage for the breastfeeding period. It is in this area that the largest amount of fat cells accumulate, which are essential for the normal course of pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. At some point, however, these much-needed fat cells of the female body can turn into the cellulite particles that deform the female body.

Cellulite is a condition in which, as a result of a decrease in the elasticity and strength of connective tissue fibers between fat cells, the latter appear on the surface of the skin in the form of an uneven, rough relief. The reasons that can lead to deformation and weakness of the connective tissue in the skin area are numerous. Most often, however, it is a matter of a violation in microcirculation, as a result of which elastic fibers lose their flexibility and relax, which allows fat cells to increase in size and appear on the skin surface.

How does cellulite develop?

The accumulation of free radicals in the skin leads to the oxidation of collagen fibers and the loss of their flexibility. The lack of sufficient physical exercise, the stagnant lifestyle, the constitutional features of the skin, improper nutrition and excess fat, and last but not least, estrogens are also important. Female hormones favor the growth of fat cells and their transformation into fat depots, the predilection place of which are the thighs and hips.

The development of cellulite goes through three stages. At first, the typical rough and uneven relief of the skin is visible to the naked eye only when squeezing the skin between the fingers. The second stage occurs when cellulite is visible when the muscles are strained. In the third stage, orange skin cannot be overlooked – it deforms the female figure and becomes an unpleasant cosmetic defect.

How is cellulite treated?

Cellulite treatment is complex and requires persistence and patience. At first, experts thought that since estrogens play a role in the appearance of orange skin, the possible application of specific hormonal products would have a good effect. Unfortunately, the results were negative: cellulite is not affected by anti-estrogen preparations. Others have looked to liposuction for an answer to their cellulite problem. In addition to not helping, this invasive procedure has now been proven to worsen the appearance of cellulite and make it even more noticeable.

It is now believed that the gold standard in the treatment of is three-fold:

  • healthy and low-fat diet
  • regular exercise
  • the application of special anti-cellulite products

What is the role of dietary nutrition?

Dietary nutrition is the basis of all attempts to lose weight and is almost always accompanied by success. In the presence of cellulite, however, self-avoidance of high-calorie foods and drinks does not lead to the desired result, on the contrary, it seems to emphasize cellulite flaws. The reason for this is that the fat deposits in the hips and thighs are the most difficult to break down. They are usually the first to form and the last to disappear.
,
Exercise attacks many of the causes leading to the appearance of cellulite. On the one hand, they stimulate circulation in the skin area, and on the other, they improve the elasticity and flexibility of collagen fibers, thus preventing the formation of cellulite bumps.

Which sports are suitable to protect ourselves from cellulite?

The most suitable sport for fighting cellulite is swimming. The reason for this is that with every movement, water has 60 times more resistance than air. In addition, water pressure also acts as lymphatic drainage. Another suitable sport is fitness and especially stretching exercises, which basically improve the elasticity of the connective tissue. A disadvantage of both sports is that they require time and money. Therefore, if it is impossible to practice them, experts say that daily morning gymnastics within 15-20 minutes also has a beneficial effect on the body especially on cellulite. In addition, it leads to the release of a large amount of endorphins, which favor a good mood. In the evening, before going to bed, alternating hot and cold showers on the thighs and hips also help to activate the metabolic processes and reduce cellulite bumps.

What products and treatments can we use?

Last but not least in the fight against cellulite are anti-cellulite products. They are extremely diverse, and in recent years laboratories have been competing to create unique preparations that more effectively burn fat at the cellular level. However, the success of applying anti-cellulite gels and creams lies in their regular use and not so much in the choice of brand. At least twice a day on well-cleansed skin for 5 minutes for about 12-20 weeks with appropriate massage movements and cellulite is reduced. In case of hypersensitivity to the specified ointments, pharmaceutical companies also offer special tools such as massagers (mechanical and electric), gloves, and brushes made of special material. The action of all of them is based on improving the microcirculatory processes in the skin through active and correctly performed massage.

Recently, there has been a particular interest in all anti-cellulite treatments and programs that are applied in special cosmetic centers. The best effect, according to experts, is massages of problem areas with suitable products, with the help of which blood and lymph circulation are improved, ionizing procedures, in which active ingredients are introduced into the skin with the help of an electric current, which destroys cellulite accumulations, stimulation of the muscles with electricity, massages and compresses with algae. Recently, special massage treatments with chocolate have also been widely used, and experts claim that 10-15 treatments have an exceptional effect on cellulite areas.

It should not be forgotten, however, that the application of the most effective anti-cellulite cream, and the visit of the best anti-cellulite treatments do not have the desired effect if they are not combined with a proper diet and active sports activity. Only in this case can cellulite be defeated.
