Baking Soda Use Case: Pesticide-Free Broccoli

The passive poisons humans enter into their bodies throughout their lifetime, are the main factors which help develop diseases, raise high levels of heavy metals in the body, cancer, unusual body mutations and more.

The Pesticide Problem

One of those ‘passive poisons’ are pesticides. They are everywhere. In the air, plants, soil, food and even in breast milk. Pesticides analyzed in a more long term exposure, have been linked with a plethora of diseases including:

  • Leukemia
  • Asthma
  • Anxiety
  • Cancer
  • Attention deficit
  • Respiratory issues

We are exposed to pesticides more than we think. Since crops, plants and many other agriculture are treated with pesticides, in order to kill wide variety of pests.

Utilizing Baking Soda To ‘De-Pesticide’ Broccoli

Broccoli takes a huge place in the daily menu of lot of babies. It’s almost in every vegan recipe. It’s delicious and adds a special flavor to each meal and without a doubt, one of the most delicious green plants coming from the cabbage family.

Insects enjoy eating broccoli plants almost as much as the people who grow them do.

Unfortunately, lots of insects enjoy eating broccoli as we humans do. Some of them are: Cabbage worms, Aphids,  Flea beetles, Cutworms (source). That’s why pesticides are heavily utilized to keep pests out.

Recipe: De-Pesticide Broccoli


  • Water
  • 1 tbsp baking soda
  • Broccoli

1). Put 1 tbsp baking soda and the water inside a bowl and stir. Leave them be, for at least 20 minutes.

2). Put the broccoli into the water upside down. (check image).

3). Leave them for 30 minutes.

4). After, wash them again with plain water.

They are free of pesticides now. Enjoy your healthy broccoli.
