Pancakes From Red Lentil Flour

This protein and fiber packed flour is a superb alternative for people trying to avoid gluten or even grains. Red Lentil flour is less used among sheer masses, even though its rich in fibers which tackle high cholesterol.

Red lentil flour is a derivative from mature red split lentils. By roasting and blending them lightly, they turn into a fine flour without adding anything extra. Like mentioned before, red lentil flour has lots of proteins and fibers.

  • 1 cup red lentil
  • 1 cup white flour regular
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • pinch of salt
  • turmeric spice optional
  • water as needed


  1. Roast the red lentil for a few minutes, lightly.
  2. Blend the red lentil, to get a flour-alike result.

  3. Mix it with the other ingredients together in a bowl and add water as needed until it's smooth. (smoothie alike result).

  4. Add the salt and spice it with turmeric spice.

  5. Pour pancake shapes onto a hot griddle.

  6. Fry them like regular pancakes.
